An AMH test is a blood test that measures anti-Müllerian hormone and is used to assess ovarian reserve, i.e., the number of eggs remaining. It is often requested to assess fertility, before fertility treatments, or to diagnose polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It can be done on any day of the cycle without fasting. High values often indicate PCOS, normal values indicate a good reserve, while low values indicate a poor ovarian reserve. It should be noted that the test does not accurately determine the chances of pregnancy and must be interpreted in conjunction with age and other tests such as FSH and ultrasound.
Ovarian reserve is the number of eggs a fertile month, and it is used to assess fertility.
A high ovarian reserve indicates a good reserve, while a low ovarian reserve indicates a low ovarian reserve.
