1. Sit upright.
2. Hold the spirometer in an upright position.
3. Exhale normally.
4. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth and seal your lips tightly around it.
5. Inhale slowly and deeply, trying to lift all three balls and keep them suspended as long as possible.
6. Remove the mouthpiece and hold your breath for at least 3-5 seconds.
7. Exhale slowly.
8. Repeat this process at least 10 times per hour while you are awake, or as instructed by a healthcare professional.
